Classical Piece Analysis for Beginners
Start with structure
Identify motifs and map the form (A–B–A, sonata exposition, etc.). Know where phrases begin/end so you can breathe and shape lines.
Decide practice priorities
Mark tricky spots (leaps, polyrhythms, wide chords) and isolate them. Practice ends and beginnings of phrases to connect sections.
